PerishablePackaging

This site highlights examples of packaging that is not plastic because bamboo, paper, cardboard, cornstarch etc are great for packaging and won’t be hanging around eg in the sea 😭 for decades after we die.

Bin liners

These bin liners are made from corn starch so they are biodegradable. We get ours from Commonsense Organics or our local New World. It’s really great to see supermarkets offering alternatives to plastics.

Bamboo tissues, toilet paper, and paper towels

IMG_5951

These great products are made with mostly recycled sugarcane and renewable bamboo. They say the paper is made to world eco accreditation. The tissues come in cardboard and the toilet paper and hand towels are wrapped in paper with a plant based cellophane window. We get ours from Commonsense Organics.

All Birds sneakers

IMG_5921

Just bought my first pair of All Birds sneakers. Great looking and really really comfortable! And they came in great cardboard perishable packaging – they say its fully recyclable with 90% post-consumer recycled cardboard and soy based inks. I really like the card board insoles.
